The Industrial Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of machinery and equipment used in automotive metal fabrication processes. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure that production equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Job Requirements:

Maintenance and Repair:
• Perform routine maintenance on fabrication machinery, including stamping presses, robotic welders, and CNC machines.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and conduct repairs as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.

Installation and Setup:
• Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment, ensuring proper calibration and alignment.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize equipment setups for efficiency and safety.

Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry safety standards and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and work areas, recommending improvements as needed.

Continuous Improvement:
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Work closely with production teams to identify areas for improvement in equipment operation and maintenance practices.

Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools, and order supplies as needed.
• Provide reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.

Collaboration:
• Collaborate with engineers, production supervisors, and other technicians to develop solutions to operational challenges.
• Train and mentor junior technicians and production staff on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience as an industrial equipment technician, preferably in the automotive or metal fabrication industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
